About Me. 🙂
Welcome and thank you for visiting my website. Take a look around and I hope you find something you’ll like.
As you read and browse around, remember to “Understand what is being said, without the necessity of believing it.”
I don’t expect you to change your beliefs and values from what you might be reading, but I trust that you will understand the message behind it.
I have come to realize that cases of depression and suicidal rates have gone up alarmingly during the past years.
More people have been complaining about how stressed they are at work and with their personal life.
I want to play my part in the battle for these global issues.
If I can help and reach out to even just one person, then I believe I am one step closer in reaching my goal.
There could be a million steps for me to take before attaining the goal, but each step is what I call progress.
Progress is progress. Every little thing counts.
Who knows, maybe, just maybe, if we are happy and fulfilled with our selves and our lives, we can be more efficient in helping others.
Words and Other Things for the Soul aims to bring you inspiration and motivation, hoping to enable you to pursue your dreams and the happiness you very much deserve.
So, look around. You just might find something that you like, or even relate to.
Please leave comments and feedback, it will be very much appreciated. I am always aiming to improve myself and my skill sets. I promise to answer back as promptly as I can.
I thank you for taking the time to read this!
I started this blog after hearing a scene from the movie, Set It Up, where the friend told the journalist to “Go and write something bad”.
I’ve always wanted to write, and to share what I have to say to would be readers.
I remember back when dial- up was still around, I would write poems and submit them to websites like Poems.com. I even got a letter from them saying that I was chosen to be put on a book that they were going to publish, and that I was invited for some ceremony, thanking me for my poem! I never went of course as I was still too young and there was no way I would get to the place they mentioned.
Nonetheless, just the thought of being recognized as a writer really got me excited.
I haven’t written any reading material since that one semester in college when I was writing for the school paper. Nothing too big, just one paper every few months if I remember correctly.
Recently, I have been thinking about how to help people and what I could do to help.
So, here I am again, many years later, in an attempt to share my views and ideas to the world, wishing to help, motivate and inspire.
I want to see more people happy with life. To be more resilient with the challenges that seem to be constantly coming after us. To think first, before reacting and to have a more positive attitude in everything that they do. To love themselves more and to love life more.
I aim to motivate and to inspire. To spread positive energy to as many people as I can. To try my best to make my readers feel even just a tiny bit better on a bad day. If I can turn it into a good day or a great day, even the better. If I can bring a smile to a reader’s face, then I would already feel like I am one step closer to my goal….so, SMILE! 🙂
I want to achieve these goals because I feel like cases of suicidal and depression and anxiety, and really, a lot of mental health cases, are increasing every day all around us. I want to be able to help those that I can, and to encourage those undergoing severe and uncontrollable issues to talk to somebody and to maybe seek professional help.
I believe that small victories count as much as the big ones. In looking for the good in the bad. In constantly improving and to better oneself. That you owe yourself as much happiness you could possibly get because you deserve it.
I believe in the power of words. That it has positive and negative effects on us, but we wield the wisdom in choosing what retains and what must leave our minds. There is magic in words that enable a person to be inspired, to be motivated, to change ones life for the better.
Often times I would come across a nice quote, a line from a song that stuck out, or a movie or TV quote that I would remember, and it would be enough for me to feel inspired, motivated, just because of the words that I read or heard. I wish to share these words with my readers in the hopes that it may have the same positive effect for them as it did with me.
I also believe that once a person is determined to make changes for the better, and that there is genuine passion in wanting to help others, that this person will be successful in what he or she desires to do.
Read and explore, you never know what you just might discover. Let’s keep learning.
All the best,
